[Practice Makes Perfect]

This floral arrangement may have been practice for the one I’ll be bringing to my boyfriend’s mom, who I will be meeting this weekend along with his dad, sister, and one of 3 brothers I haven’t met yet.

It might be a little weird, but I’m excited-nervous and practicing and planning helps calm me down. Plus now I get my own kickass flowers to bring to work and brighten up my windowless office. Really, it’s a win-win.

[Winds that Whirl]

I can’t believe it’s been almost two weeks since I last posted; it doesn’t seem like it was that long ago! Anyway, some sort of cool and fun things have happened, and some not so cool and fun things. In true Stephanie fashion I will make a list:

1. Work has kicked into high gear and although I’m still doing a lot of the same stuff, I did get pulled into some super cool planning and designing for the future of Microsoft’s many websites.

2. The boyfriend and I went to Tacoma for a day trip to share some firsts together. First we visited the glass museum, and then spent a couple of hours at the LeMay car museum. A museum for Mr. Sullivan and one for me.

3. I got home Wednesday to find that my refrigerator had been open all day. I had already had a stressful and mediocre day. It was the icing on a shit cake so I threw out 80% of what was in there. I had no cheese, that made me sad, and I may have cried.

4. I rode the bus downtown. All by myself. My end destination was Pike Place. I bought some goodies for a package I’m sending to my family, mac and cheese at Beecher’s, and some beautifully colored tulips.

5. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and from the hints that my boyfriend has given me, which have been very limited, it sounds like it’s going to be a weekend to remember.

6. My mom is coming to visit in just 25 days. I’m so excited. SO EXCITED.

[I’ve Gots the Travel Bug]

First non-365 post after a whopping 1 day off, but I have big news totally worth sharing…

I’m going to Dubai in April!

My friend Lisa texted me on Friday and asked if I wanted to go with her. I said I’d think about it over the weekend, but as soon as she asked me I knew I was going to make the trip happen. I mean, when else am I going to go to Dubai? So, we bought our tickets today and I literally did a dance in my office when I was done. I’m just glad the blinds close.

[336] Get Me Outta Here!

First of all, it snowed this morning. Granted, it was maybe an inch, but the ground was white for a little while.

Second, my bed frame was delivered and assembled today, which means my apartment is almost done.

Third, I’m exhausted. There were so many things that I needed to get done today, and even though it didn’t seem like a lot, I’m totes ready for a nap. The Syracuse basketball game is about to start so maybe I’ll take that time to lay down and rest a little bit.

I’ll be home in 17.5 hours, but I’m trying to figure out if there’s something I can sacrifice to the weather gods so that they don’t mess with my traveling.

[287] Warm Fuzzies

You know that feeling that any person with a soul gets when they see puppies? I feel that exact same way when Syracuse basketball starts up again, AND it just so happens that today is that day! I may or may not be watching the game online right now and by may or may not, I actually mean I wouldn’t miss it for anything. Even though the exhibition games are usually blowouts, I like watching because I get to see what the new players are made of!

In other exciting news, that apartment I looked at on Monday…it’s mine! So today I bought the most perfect bed! It’s my first real big girl bed and it’s making this whole experience start to sink in. I wish I had a better word to describe the way I’m feeling than excited, but that’s exactly what I am.

[152] Full Blown Geek Out

Today was a super eventful day; I had work, I got to use my new windshield wipers for the first time, and the last 3 boxes shipped from my parent’s arrived in the mail!

I’m sure it seems a little weird to be so excited to use my windshield wipers, but after having a pair that squeaked every time I used them it’s SO NICE to have ones that don’t. I was also geeking out over the 3 boxes that came because I always feel like I’m getting buttloads of new stuff. Some of my stuff was broken, but luckily everything that broke, had a double! Phew.
